Our History

Responding to community needs, our first site, Grant Works, opened in 1978, serving twenty-eight children. More than 40 years later we now serve more than 950 families in our nine sites and more than a dozen programs, in person and virtually. Our programs include childcare, full and half-day preschool, Head Start, Home Visiting from birth to age 5, and parent programs.

We work closely with and provide support for School Districts #98, #99, #100 and #201, the Cicero Community Collaborative and the Berwyn Development Corp.

The Children’s Center of Cicero-Berwyn is a private non-for-profit, 501 (c)(3) registered charitable organization chartered in the State of Illinois. All center based programs are licensed by the Illinois Department of Children and Family Services (DCFS) and are accredited by the National Association for the Education of Young Children (NAEYC).
