About Us

The Children's Center of Cicero-Berwyn is a private not-for-profit, 501 (c)(3) registered charitable organization chartered in the State of Illinois. All center based programs are licensed by the Illinois Department of Children and Family Services (DCFS) and are accredited by NAEYC (National Association for the Education of Young Children)

The Children’s Center of Cicero Berwyn provides a nurturing, developmentally appropriate atmosphere for children, while supporting parents and caregivers in their critical role as their child’s first teacher.

We respect the child as a unique and special individual. We encourage families to help their children enjoy life and learn to accept themselves, and others, and prepare them for academic success.

The Children's Center of Cicero-Berwyn currently serves more than 950 families in Cicero, Berwyn and the surrounding communities. We provide educational, play-based childcare, full and half day Head Start and Preschool for All classrooms and home-based, child development and parenting programs.

All programs are bilingual (Spanish/English).

A Focus On Development

Social Emotional: Getting along with both children and adults, expressing feelings in an acceptable way and learning inner control.

Physical: Using large and small muscles to promote growth and development. Constructing an environment and curriculum that supports healthy habits.

Intellectual: Gaining skills that encourage thinking, reasoning and problem solving.

Cultural: Developing pride in self and family background.

Program Objectives: All programs allow children to participate in many experiences that meet their developmental needs.

Good transition skills: Programs allow children to make the transition to the structured environment of a classroom.
